Our Catalayah Zebras have been learning about song form and music structure! They listened to and identified the parts of a famous orchestra piece. Then, to add in some hands-on learning, they moved a parachute to the notes of the song! 🦓☀ #cpszebrapride

Junior high students in Mrs. Newbury's classes have spent the last few weeks learning about genetics and how different traits get passed from one generation to another. 🧬🔎 To show mastery, students had to combine chromosomal traits and decode what their "spud buddy" would look like. 🥔 Hands-on projects like these make learning more effective and help students build a strong foundation in scientific concepts. Good job to Mrs. Newbury and her students involved in this innovative and engaging lesson! Way to go, Zebras!🦓❤ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Class of 2024 Senior Tea!💐☕💖 Today our Zebras attended the Annual Senior Tea escorted by the mothers or mother figures in their lives. With words from their peers on friendship, mother-daughter relationships, and pursuing their dreams the ladies of 2024 shared another moment, another memory, & another milestone that they will cherish when they remember their time as a Zebra!💖 This tradition was originated by the ladies' organizations in Claremore and has been hosted & sponsored by P.E.O Chapter BM, P.E.O Chapter FI, Aladdin Club, Dr. Melinda Steelmon, Oklahomes Realty, Inc., Rogers State University and those that partner with them. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Westside Elementary, 3rd and 5th grade GT students took on the 3-2-1 Plank Challenge and blew us away with their creativity and ingenuity! 🚀 🌟🏗️ Using Keva planks, these budding engineers aimed for the skies as they built towering structures with only 3 planks as their base. 🏗️ The challenge didn't stop there! They then tackled structures with 2 planks and even just a single plank, showcasing a wide array of approaches from height-focused to design-driven. 🎨✨

It was a real "whodunnit" in our 8th grade English classes! English teachers developed an engaging and interactive approach to teach argumentative writing techniques by doing a murder mystery activity. For this activity, the students must make a claim, use reasons to support the claim, and then support the reasons with evidence by analyzing information, evaluating evidence, and finally formulate claims based on their findings. They became true detectives! But the question remains... who did it? 🕵🏼‍♀️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Many of the portfolios will be submitted to the college board and Scholastic for judging and competition. We would like to invite you to a special reception on Wednesday, April 17th, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM to celebrate the students' hard work. Your presence would mean a lot to our students, so please support them at this special event. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

To help them understand the complex information practically, this activity introduces changes in position by calculating the distance and displacement of their own pathways - reinforcing these scientific concepts in a fun and interactive way! 📏🌎 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
