Without these heroes, there's no telling the chaos we'd deal with! The biggest of all the thank yous to our Astonishingly Awesome Administrative Professionals, Mrs. Susan Haggard and Mrs. Jackie Feliciano! Your attention to detail and dedication to this school is truly appreciated each and every day! Happy Administrative Professionals day to you both! #AdministrativeProfessionalsDay #SkillfulSuperheroes #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🚨🚨🚨 Winner alert number 2!🚨🚨🚨 We heard all about our 3rd-5th grade weekend challenge winner, now meet our PreK-2nd grade winner. Lily Garvin was our top seller in the younger grades and won the chance to throw a first pitch, too, but due to previous engagements, couldn't make it to the game. We couldn't let her hard work go unrewarded, though, so Lily got the chance to spin the Wheel of WOW two times! Spin 1 earned her some hot, cheesy, delicious pizza!πŸ• πŸ•πŸ• But not just for her: she won a pizza party for her WHOLE class and is so excited to share her prize with all of her friends later this week!! Spin 2 won her the right to pick her favorite lunch and staff member of choice to enjoy a quiet lunch with. McDs and Mrs. Reavis were selected as the favorites because friench fries and art teachers make everyone happy! 🍟🎨πŸ₯° Way to sell, Lily!! #WeekendChallengeWinner πŸ•πŸŸπŸ•πŸŸ #ChanceToWin #SellSellSell #PrizesForDays #CPSZEBRAPRIDE πŸ¦“

Once upon a time, in a magical, not so far away land, a ball was held for the lords and ladies, dukes and duchesses, princes and princesses, and of course the fairest of kings and queens in all of second grade. πŸ‘‘ They came in droves in their finery and danced and sang as families watched on in merriment. A bow here, a curtsy there, and another Roosa Second Grade Fairytale Ball has come to a close. And they all lived happily ever after. The End. #OnceUponATime #FairytaleBall #HappilyEverAfter #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Some sank each other's ships in PE, others pounded out clay in art, and more still played some fun games to test their knowledge on notes on the treble and bass staff in music. Fifth grade starts their state testing today, so of course they've got to shake off some stress, get out the wiggles, and just plain have some fun before the testing begins! Good luck, guys! Just do your best, and ROCK THAT TEST! #RockTheTest #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Congratulations to Muriel Alexander on funding of a Fast Track Grant! "CPSF is always bridging the gap in the classroom. Roosa 5th grade students have been enjoying tables that were provided through the Fall grant cycle, and we are now being awarded storage for student supplies due to the tables not having a storage area. Thank you to all who donate to CPSF, you are providing needs in the classroom that not all aware exist! Teachers couldn’t effectively do what we do without your support."-Muriel Alexander, Roosa Elementary School #CPSF #TeacherGrants #FastTrackGrant #CPSZEBRAPRIDE #ExcellenceInEducation

April 10th marks National Encourage a Young Writer Day! Many of the worlds' most famous authors got their starts because of parents and teachers just like you who cheered them along their imaginative path. These second graders got a jump start with their very own published book. Each one authored and illustrated just what they'd be "If I Were an Animal." Keep up the great work! #CelebrateCreativity #EncourageAYoungWriterDay πŸ“πŸ–‹

Roosa students spent a large part of their day Monday learning everything possible about the impending eclipse. Many classes created eclipse inspired art, studied the delicious phases of the moon, and some even acted out how the sun, moon and Earth work together to create the eclipse! It's a safe bet that they're going to be talking about this event for years and years to come! β˜€πŸ”†πŸ•Ά #TotalEclipseOfTheArt #KnowledgeIsPower #Eclipse2024 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

School librarians are nothing short of magical! They are able to encourage the youngest of learners to love reading , while educating everyone from small to tall on the myriad of resources the library has to offer. Whether helping to find that one book. . .you know, the one that tells the story of a boy. . . that said a thing. . .and maybe has a talking dog. . .oh! and it might be blue, to teaching how best to read an atlas, to guiding students to the section of nonfiction to find a book all about zebras - 599, for those that are curious - librarians have a seemingly endless supply of knowledge and love to share it with their students! We are so thankful for Ms. Kirton and how much she inspires others to love learning just like her! Happy school librarian's day! #SchoolLibrarianDay #InspiringReaders #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
