Ms. Courtney joined the Roosa family several years ago and we can't sing her praises loudly enough! Whether hosting lunches with students or stopping to ask a kiddo how they are in passing, she makes sure each one she passes knows she cares. Ms. Courtney flawlessly teaches students how to navigate tricky situations with friends and how and ways to handle big feelings. "I Am NOT Going to Get Up Today!" might be the book he read to 4th grade, but he not only got up, but he showed up in a big way! Mr. Frazier loves getting to come to the schools and interact with students, so being a celebrity reader was going to be fun no matter what! But something tells me that the beaming young man in the Zebras lacrosse shirt, the one who calls him Papa, made this visit that much sweeter! Guess what's back, back again.... It's the book fair!!! Starting next week, March 11th and running through March 15th, the Scholastic Book Fair is back at Roosa - tell a friend! Students will be able to shop daily as their class schedules allow, and Tuesday, March 12th we'll be open late during parent/teacher conferences. The Ewallet is an option again this time, giving parents some comfort knowing their kiddos have an easy, safe way to access book fair money without chance of losing it. Jacks of all trades, flexible, and always willing to fix all that needs to be fixed from here to there and EVERYWHERE across the entire district, our maintenance crew is definitely deserving of superhero status! Rori said these are her favorites because they feature a smart and kind young woman named Malala, who some might know as the youngest Nobel Prize winner ever. Rori recently read a book about the great things Malala has done. "I liked learning about how she stands up for girls' rights," she told us.
