Just because it's summer doesn't mean our teachers are taking a break – they're still learning and growing as educators. Summer is a time when many teachers invest in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences to enhance their teaching skills and bring fresh ideas to their classrooms in the upcoming school year. Ms. Henry from Catalayah Elementary seems to be having an exciting and fulfilling week filled with various STEM-related activities and experiences. Let's take a closer look at some of the cool stuff she did: "I’ve been all over the state this week! I love mentoring NASA OKSG during the Summer Institute because I get to meet new participants again and follow along with their STEM journey. FAA MMAC (OKC) - We got to tour the different areas. In the crash investigation training area, we did a mock investigation. We would identify signatures that could help to solve what would have happened to the plane. We also go to see a radar simulation. Along with looking at a border patrol camera. Stafford Air and Space Museum (Weatherford) - She had the privilege of hearing from the museum's wonderful curator, Max, who shared valuable information about the exhibits. OSU DML - Design Manufacturing Lab (Stillwater) - Dr. Conner lead the tour again and I think I have done that tour 4 times now, and it’s always interesting. He even laser-printed something for our classrooms. Rocket Launch (Glencoe/Stillwater) - The week ended with an exciting rocket launch event in Glencoe/Stillwater. Participants launched two rockets of their own, adding an element of hands-on experimentation and exploration. We were also treated to a special appearance by OSU's Rocketry team, who launched two rockets of their own." - Ms. Ashley Henry #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
