An "egg-citing" lesson in Mrs. Classen's class at Westside!🥚🍳📚 While learning nursery rhymes, Mrs. Classen's class "cracked" the code to see how many blocks it takes for Humpty Dumpty (a boiled egg) to have a great fall. They added to the excitement with the Itsy Bitsy Spider by making spider cookies. What an interactive and yummy reading activity!🕷🍪📚 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Catalayah students got to experience a special story and piece of history. They may not have been alive when it happened, but it will now be something they will never forget.❤⛑ Ms. Butcher's father worked the clean-up for 9/11 as a chaplain 22 years ago. He drove by car to New York to provide aid and support, and he stayed on sight for 3 weeks. Residue from the tragic event still remains around the rim of the helmet. There were many signatures that students noticed were from pilots, policemen, firefighters, and other chaplains. Being a hero is about selflessness, serving, and protecting. Students discussed ways they use these characteristics to be heroes in their everyday lives. What a memorable lesson and a thank you to Ms. Butcher, teacher at Catalayah, for sharing this with our students.❤🦓 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
