vfw wrestling

The Claremore High School Wrestling Team would like to give a huge thank you to the Members of the Claremore's VFW Post 2976. The program would also like to give a personal thank you to Matt Miller for the invitation. These men allowed Coach Willard to come and speak about the wrestling program and decided to partner with the vision of the program by donating $5000.

These men have already given so much of themselves to our country, but helping is what they take pride in doing. Coach Willard got to meet some interesting men, that had some remarkable stories. He also met Veteran Les Stanfill, who was part of the very first wrestling team at Claremore High School in 1970.

The team and coaches are eternally grateful for the support of these men. Coach willard said “it was just a great opportunity to meet some of these men and get to tell them about our team. I did not go there expecting them to donate and was floored by the generosity from the VFW.” Also Coach Willard would like to extend an invitation to all the wrestlers and their families to give back to the VFW. Once a month they do steak dinners, next one is April 6th, they also have bingo nights and other things they do to raise money that they turn around and donate back to our community. Reach out to them and make your reservation for dinner or get out and enjoy any of the other activities they offer.

Thank you again for your support, and listening about the wrestling program. Also one more time, thank you Matt Miller.
