1. Why Coach. My dad started his career in coaching when I was born, later on going into insurance, but I started out around it as a kid growing up in a coach’s home. So then when I knew my playing days as an athlete would come to an end, I still wanted to be around the games.

2. Most Memorable Coaching. My first year coaching I was blessed to be on the coaching staff and a part of a State Football Championship and receiving our ring.

3. Favorite Moment(s).My Senior year in high school, becoming a Regional Champion in the 300 hurdles, then competing in the State Track meet, making the podium for the 5th place medal.

4. Embarrassing Coach. My first-year coaching, one duty was 7th and 8th girl’s basketball.  On the first day I’m going over expectations and everyday schedule. I explain to them what they will need every day for practice gear and what time practice will be over to get ready for next class. I explain they will need school clothes, shower supplies, towel, and “thongs” for the shower. I’m thinking like shower shoes. For me I grew up knowing “flip flops” as “thongs”. Well, all the girls began giggling while I was talking, so I finally said, what’s wrong? One of them says, “you said we need thongs”. I said yeah you know for shower shoes. Then it hit me, and I was like ooooh my gosh. I turned beet red and they started laughing. I said oh what do you all call them? They informed me, slides or flops.

5. Funniest thing. Well not sure if I can narrow that down to one. I wish I would have started a journal when I began coaching to write down all the stories I have heard and experiences I have went through throughout the years.

6. Best excuse for missing a practice. Hair cut for prom

7. Favorite sports movie. Rocky, the underdog story where he doesn’t give up and has to fight his way to the top.

8. Favorite sports quote. "I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." ---Michael Jordan
