š³š“š³Claremore Public Schools is gearing up for Spring Break, March 18th - 22nd. Our halls are filled with anticipation for the coming week of relaxation, fun, and, hopefully, great spring weather.
šøIf you are going on a vacation or staycation, remember to wear your Zebra gear and take a photo for our #ZebraTravelDiaries. It's not about where you go; it's about WEARING YOUR ZEBRA GEAR when you are there!
Send your photo in your Zebra gear, name, school, and where you are to jbrace@claremore.k12.ok.us, and weāll post it.
It's Pi Day!š„§ Mrs. Higgins' math classes are celebrating Pi Day by doing math work... and once they are finished they get to eat their PIE (donut)! That's one way to get students to finish their work! Who knew math could be so tasty?

High School Physical Science students went on an exciting journey of discovery as they experimented with different colors of light. With their 'laser fingers', they used the colors to make white light and see the interactions of the different wavelengths! It was a captivating experience that not only sparked their curiosity but also illuminated (pun intended!) the principles of light and color in a hands-on and engaging way.
Laser fingers are fun!

Mrs. Hammack's class is not only getting some exercise and sunshine by walking to the Claremore Public Library, but they're also exploring the magical world of books and the joy of reading! Plus, going to the library as a class gives students a chance to to connect with each other over books, share stories, and even engage in friendly competition to see who can read the most books!

Mrs. Williams class is working on a unit about the earthās orbit and how this relates to leap year. They made a sundial as a reinforcement activity demonstrating that the earth is continuously turning on its axis. What a fun and interactive way to learn about the earth's orbit and leap year! Making a sundial is a great hands-on activity that helps students understand the concept of the earth's rotation on its axis and how it relates to the passage of time. It's also a creative way to demonstrate the practical applications of science and math in the real world!
And it's lots of fun!

For Read Across America week, our art students drew the Cat in the Hat! That sounds like a fun and creative way to celebrate Read Across America Week! Dr. Seuss's "The Cat in the Hat" is such a classic children's book, and it's great to see students using their artistic skills to bring the story to life.

In Mrs. Fudge's class, students learned about how nature is a popular theme in poetry. They went outside and wrote haikus and tankas about nature.
That sounds like a lovely way to spend the day! Both haikus and tankas are short forms of poetry that originated in Japan and often focus on nature themes.

Mrs. Hammack's class is getting a real life science lesson! They are examining owl pellets and matching bones to the animals they came from. It takes patience, attention to detail and critical thinking to piece together the puzzle- but how rewarding when they figure it out! This is one science experience the students won't likely forget!
